Bagpuss is the legendary 1974 British stop-motion children's series from Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin's Smallfilms studio, set inside Emily's small shop where the title saggy old cloth cat and his collection of toy companions (Professor Yaffle the woodpecker, Charlie Mouse, Madeleine the rag doll) wake whenever a lost object arrives and try to find its way home. The series aired on BBC Two in 1974, with a tightly written 12-episode run that has remained a beloved British children's TV classic for decades.
