Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie adapts the long-running children's book series into feature-length animated form, following two best-friend fourth-graders George Beard and Harold Hutchins, who write their own comic-book series about an underwear-wearing superhero called Captain Underpants and accidentally hypnotize their cruel principal Mr. Krupp into actually believing he is the title hero. With their secret double-life carrying through the school year, George and Harold must contend with both their new responsibility for managing the principal's transformations and the threat of the genuinely evil substitute teacher Professor Poopypants who arrives at their school. The film plays as a feature-length CGI animated comedy.
