Iznogoud is the mid-1990s French animated series adapted from Rene Goscinny and Jean Tabary's classic French comic strip about Grand Vizier Iznogoud, the small-but-deeply-ambitious advisor in the Caliphate of Baghdad whose entire life is consumed by elaborate schemes to overthrow the kindly Caliph Haroun el Plassid and become Caliph in his place, while his bumbling henchman Wa'at Alahf reluctantly assists. The show ran across Canal+, CBBC, and Nickelodeon across 1995 and 1996 with 12 episodes that adapt the source comic-strip's specific failed-conspirator comic register.
