Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is the early-2000s Canadian preschool animated series adapted from Michael Paraskevas and Betty Paraskevas' picture-book series, in which the imaginative young Maggie travels into Nowhere Land, a stylized make-believe place where she plays with her best friend the Ferocious Beast, a striped, surprisingly-gentle giant, and Hamilton, a sweater-wearing pig. The show ran across Nickelodeon and Teletoon from 2000 into 2002, with 22 episodes that pair gentle preschool plotting with the source-book's specific stylized hand-drawn-watercolor look.
