Monchhichis is the early-1980s Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning animated series adapted from the popular Sekiguchi Monchhichi monkey-doll line, in which a tribe of cheerful Monchhichi monkeys live in the cloud-forest kingdom of Monchia, where they defend their treetop village from the schemes of the underground-dwelling Grumplins led by the wicked sorcerer Horrg. The show ran on ABC across 1983 with 13 episodes that build out the Monchia cloud-forest mythology and its specific toy-line worldbuilding.
