Mr. Meaty is the mid-2000s Nickelodeon series that brought puppet animation to the network's lineup with stories set inside a fast-food restaurant staffed by two awkward teenage employees. The show ran on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons starting in 2006, and the format pairs the puppet-animation register with a comic sensibility closer to surreal sketch comedy than typical kids' programming. The bizarre charm of the show came from how committed the production was to its puppet-craft and to the strange comedic universe its leads inhabited.
