Nerdland follows two struggling Los Angeles roommates, an aspiring actor named John and an aspiring screenwriter named Elliot, as they decide that the only way to escape obscurity is to become famous by any means necessary, and embark on a single-day series of increasingly desperate schemes to manufacture their own celebrity through stunts, scandals, and accidental notoriety.
