Nightmare Ned is a one-season 1997 ABC animated series, an experiment in turning a child's anxieties into actual nightmares rather than metaphors. Each episode visits another set of fears that haunt a young Ned through the night, from monsters under the bed to visits from too-old relatives to a nameless dread of school. The show has a distinct stylized look and an unsettling tone that did not really resemble anything else on Saturday morning at the time.
