Nu, pogodi! is the long-running Soviet and Russian animated short series that follows the cigarette-smoking, leather-jacketed Wolf as he chases the cheerful, ever-resourceful Hare through scenarios across cities, beaches, fairgrounds, and faraway destinations, never quite catching him no matter what increasingly elaborate scheme he tries. The shorts ran on Soviet Central Television and across Channel One Russia, RTR Planeta, and Nostalgia from 1969 onward, with new entries appearing across multiple decades into the 2010s.
