Sahara brings the action-adventure novel by Clive Cussler to feature form, following the former U.S. Navy SEAL turned underwater explorer Dirk Pitt and his loyal companion Al Giordino as they investigate strange occurrences along the Niger River in West Africa, ultimately uncovering a centuries-old mystery and a contemporary environmental conspiracy. They are joined by World Health Organization doctor Eva Rojas, whose own investigation into a mysterious disease outbreak intersects with their adventure. The film plays as a feature-length live-action adventure entry.
