Salute Your Shorts dropped a group of summer campers into Camp Anawanna for two seasons of pranks, scheming counselors, and the kind of formative misadventures that defined Nickelodeon's live-action lineup in the early 1990s. Premiering in 1991, the series followed Bobby Budnick, Donkeylips, Michael Stein, Sponge, Telly, and Dina through the petty rivalries and unexpected friendships of a camp that ran more on personality than on its actual programming. The show captured something essential about that age, the moment when summer feels longer than the rest of the year and the rules of home no longer apply.
