She-Ra: Princess of Power is the mid-1980s syndicated companion series to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, in which Princess Adora, He-Man's twin sister, raises her sword and transforms into the warrior She-Ra to lead the Great Rebellion against the Horde occupation of Etheria, the planet she was kidnapped to as a baby. The show ran in syndication and on USA Network across 1985 and 1986, with 93 episodes that build a long-form mythology connected to the broader He-Man universe.
What stands out is the show's commitment to its specific rebellion-versus-empire format. Each episode runs She-Ra and her allies through a fresh Horde scheme, the writing builds out a real Etherian world with named villages, magical-creature kingdoms, and political alliances, and the supporting cast of rebels and Horde commanders carries their own personalities through the run.
