Simsalagrimm is the late-1990s and 2010s German animated series that adapts the Brothers Grimm fairy tales into TV-format episodes, framed by two narrator-figures, the elf-like Yoyo and the bookworm-like Doc Croc, who tumble into each tale through a magic book and have to live the events of the story alongside the title characters. The show ran across KIKA, SVT1, DR1, VT4, TF1, and a number of other European children's broadcasters from 2000 onward, with episodes that adapt one classic fairy tale per entry.
