Skyland Complete 3-Disc Box Set DVD
Skyland Complete brings home the mid-2000s French-Canadian computer-animated science fiction series, set in a far-future Earth shattered into floating sky-islands controlled by an authoritarian Sphere government, following two young siblings as they join the rebellion to free their kidnapped Seijin mother and break the Sphere's iron grip on the remaining water supply. The texture is unmistakable, with confident computer animation that gave the show its distinctive cinematic visual register, dramatic narration, and a tone that takes its post-apocalyptic mythology seriously while delivering the kind of mature animated science fiction the era's better international programming aspired to.
