Sonic Underground is the late-1990s ABC, BKN, Channel 4, and TF1 animated series that took the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise into new territory by reimagining Sonic as one of three triplet siblings (Sonic, Sonia, and Manic) who lead a rebellion against the tyrannical robotic Doctor Robotnik through music. The show ran across one season starting in 1999, with a 40-episode collection capturing the series in its broadcast catalog. The format pairs the established Sonic franchise with the new musical-rebellion premise.
