Spark: A Space Tail follows the young teenage spider-monkey Spark, who along with his friends the foxlike Vix and the warthoglike Chunk lives on the asteroid where his royal-family heritage was scattered after a coup that destroyed his home planet years ago. When the threat of the usurper General Zhong returns, Spark must reclaim his birthright and lead his ragtag team back to liberate the galaxy. The film plays as a feature-length CGI animated space-adventure entry, with each act stacking the central restoration stakes against the standard character-comedy register.
