Stressed Eric is BBC Two's pitch-black sitcom about a permanently sweating divorced dad whose forehead vein is one breath away from rupture and whose every quiet evening is hijacked by a fresh small disaster. The UK version that played on BBC Two in 1998 and 2000 keeps the original British voice cast, the original jokes, and the original throbbing-vein animation, all the texture that the later overdubbed American cut sanded off. Eric's life is school plays, leaking pipes, garden parties, work meetings, and the perpetual sense that things are about to go very wrong in a very specific way.
