Surf's Up follows the young rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick who has dreamed his entire life of competing in the major Pen Gu Island professional surfing championship, and who finally gets his chance to compete only to discover that the actual competitive circuit is more complicated and more dangerous than he had imagined. With the help of the laid-back retired surfing legend Geek and the perpetually-rivalrous reigning champion Tank Evans, Cody must figure out what surfing actually means to him beyond just winning. The film plays as a feature-length CGI animated mockumentary-style sports-comedy entry.
