The Dick and Paula Celebrity Special is the late-1990s and early-2000s FX animated series that parodied the celebrity-interview genre through the format of a fake talk show hosted by the deliberately inept Dick and Paula. The show aired on FX starting in 1999 with a six-episode run that captures the format in its complete broadcast life. The premise of each episode is the same: Dick and Paula interview a celebrity (or attempt to), and the comedy comes from the gap between the hosts' competence and the situations they create.
