The Year Without a Santa Claus follows Santa Claus as he develops a serious cold during a particularly dispiriting holiday season and decides to cancel Christmas entirely due to widespread doubts about whether the world still believes in him, leading Mrs. Claus and two of his most loyal elves to set out on a desperate quest to convince Santa to reconsider while also reckoning with the meddling magical brothers Heat Miser and Snow Miser who control the world's weather. The special plays as a half-hour stop-motion animated holiday entry with later live-action and CGI animated remake adaptations.
