Unfabulous follows seventh grader Addie Singer through the small earthquakes of middle school: friend drama, first crushes, family negotiations, and the diary-songs she writes on her pink guitar to make sense of it all. Each episode opens with Addie at the keyboard, framing the half-hour around a tune she has been working on, then unfolds the real-life situation that inspired it.
